The location is great and quiet, with decent priced restaurants nearby. I felt safe in the area, and the Lungarno del Tempio district was definitely worth visiting. The breakfast was excellent and reasonably priced, and the staff was outstanding.

ENG: The hotel was amazing! Our host Enrico was so helpful and welcoming, gave us a city map and a wonderful tips on food and sights. The room was simple and cosy, with high ceilings, air conditioning, high-speed (!) internet connection, very clean and tidy. It had an entrance to a lovely outdoor terrace. Bathroom was big enough and spotless. We really enjoyed our breakfast with cereals, cookies, delicious coffee and chatting with other guests. The location was perfect for us, 15 min walk from the city center with all the sights, 3 min to the river, with shops and restaurants nearby. It really felt like staying at a friends'. Great value for money, highly recommended!

Cimabua 9 is located outside the centro storico of Florence but is it just a 15 min walk or a bus ride to the centre and all the attractions. Enrico is very helpful with advising on what buses to take. The room was cleaned every day and the bed made. There was a small outdoor eating terrace which was perfect for a quiet dinner. Cimabua 9 is close to a supermarket, an excellent gelateria (Enrico's grandfather painted the scene inside it), La Serafini bar which has a good tavola fredo everynight for e7.
Not a complaint, but Cimabue 9 was on a noisy road, so you need to take that into consideration. Breakfast could be improved a little by using pastries from the local panaficio rather than the overly sweet packaged pastries.

Yep, it's true...Enrico is the host with the most! You'll get all the info you want and need from him at breakfast, which is served in a nice common area in the middle of the apt. He tries harder than most by supplying a toaster and 2 kinds of sliced bread as well as 2 kinds of cereal, carton juice, jam and 2 kinds of pre-packaged pastries but there's butter in the small communal fridge if you want something salty, which many of us do in the morning (or at least not so many sweet things!). The rooms are modern and comfy and the traffic noise outside didn't bother us at all but we always sleep with earplugs. Rooms are personally cleaned by Enrico himself and are spotless. He and his family live upstairs so you'll never have to worry about arriving at a time when nobody's home because someone is always around. The surrounding neighborhood really makes the stay memorable as it's a lovely place to eat, stroll, window shop and even to take a short walk along the river to the main tourist sites (Santa Croce church, etc.) since everything is so near. Buses are plenty and varied and you can ask Enrico where the internet place is if you don't have a laptop. Coffee is really good at breakfast so be sure to ask for a big, strong American coffee in a mug! Enrico's been in the business for a number of years already and is a charming host who really grows on you and at the end of your stay you want to give him a kiss on the forehead and thank him for being such a nice boy! Bravo to his mama! All the best to Enrico and his family.
We were happy that we didn't have one of the 2 rooms that are situated just off the communal area where breakfast is served since it starts at 8:00. Be sure to ask for one of the 2 rooms that are off the hallway instead.

The location was great - away from the main sites and crowds, but close enough to walk there in about 15 minutes on a pleasant, pedestrians-only street. Enrico, the owner, was very attentive. He gave us a map and showed us everything we needed to know about the sites and the transit system. He recommended restaurants that were tasty, inexpensive and away from the tourist area. The weather was so good that we walked everywhere from B&B Cimabue 9. The rooms are small and clean with adequate storage and lots of hot water.
There is nothing we didn't like about B&B Cimabue 9. Enrico was very good to us - even arranged a 5am cab to the airport.

Enrico was a fantastic host at this great little b&B. He offered very clear and helpful advice for seeing around the city, sorted car parking for us at a competitive price and provided us with a very satisfactory breakfast. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The b&b was about 1 mile from the centre of the city and although we enjoyed the walk, there were also a number of public transport options we could have used.
Tourists from South Africa often stay at these properties. Ideas for your future trips.
